Receive A Scholarship
Through fundraising efforts, the Fallen Linemen Foundation has established a scholarship program for students entering into the Electrical Linemen Program and for children of linemen to reflect their belief in education and career development, and be a giving member of the linemen fraternity. Scholarship funds will assist with tuition, fees, books and other related expenses.
NORTH CAROLINA
Billy Jones Memorial Scholarship
The Billy Jones Memorial Scholarship was created to assist students that are the children of active linemen interested in pursuing a college education. Five $2,000 scholarships will be offered to qualifying students to pursue their education in a secondary school.
This scholarship honors the many years of dedication, hard work and support of Billy Jones. Billy was a member of the Fallen Linemen Foundation board from its inception. His insight, humor and passion were treasured by all who knew him.

SOUTH CAROLINA
Chief Richard Browne Scholarship
The Chief Richard Browne Scholarship was created to assist the children of active linemen interested in pursuing a college education. The $1,000 scholarship (one) will be offered to the qualifying student to pursue his/her education in a secondary school.
Chief Richard Browne exemplified the true meaning of service and was a role model for all but especially for those pursuing a career in public service. His commitment, dedication and passion will never be forgotten.
This scholarship is made possible by the contributions from The ADVOCATES MC of SC.
VIRGINIA
Climbing Higher Award (Scholarship)
The Climbing Higher Award was created to assist students interested in pursuing a career as an electrical lineman. The award is available to three deserving students in the Southside Virginia Community College Power Line Worker Training School program – one student per graduating class. Power Line Worker Training School students can nominate a classmate currently enrolled in the graduating class. The instructors will choose the recipient.
Each recipient will be recognized with a monetary award of $350 and their name placed on a permanent plaque located in the PLW classroom.
This scholarship is possible because of the generosity of the Municipal Electric Power Association of Virginia (MEPAV), the Fallen Linemen Foundation and Southside Virginia Community College.
Gary Wayne Peck Scholarship
The Gary Wayne Peck Fallen Linemen Foundation Scholarship was created to assist students that are the children of active linemen or linemen employed by Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative interested in pursuing a college education. The $1500 scholarship (one) will be offered to the qualifying student to pursue his/her education in a secondary school.
Gary Wayne Peck lost his life while performing his lifelong passion of line work.
This scholarship is made possible by the contributions from the VA Fallen Linemen Foundation annual golf tournament.
